Obituary

Clifford Allen Bowman, of Meadows of Dan, Virginia, left us on the evening of March 26, 2018. He went to be with his Lord where he will breath freely and feel no pain. Cliff was born on January 11, 1938 to Carl and Ocie Bowman of Floyd County, VA. Cliff was raise in the Blue Ridge Mountains with his older sister, Willa Mae Alderman and his younger brother, Herman Bowman.

Cliff graduated from Meadows of Dan High School at the young age of sixteen. He earned a full scholarship to the College of Williams and Mary for his baseball. Cliff landed a job at Joy Lyodel's Gulf Station in Yorktown, where he worked part time while in Spring training. He soon met and married Mary Lou Bowman. They had three children, Charlene, Sandy, and Danny Bowman.

Cliff had many accomplishments throughout his life, too many to mention, but his favorites where playing his Blue Grass Music and golf. Cliff later returned to the beloved mountains when he retired from C & P Telephone Company. He began working the land raising Christmas Trees and cutting timber and of course, playing his beloved Martin guitar while being with all of his well-loved friends.
