Clevo Ottaway
Wheeling
July 15, 1932 – March 7, 2021
Clevo Ottaway Wheeling passed away on March 7th, 2021 at 6:40pm at the age of 88. Clevo resided in Stafford, Virginia for over 20 years and previously resided in Manassas, Virginia the preceding 25 years. Clevo was born in a cabin in Pulaski County on July 15th, 1932. He was the eldest son of Roy and Ina Wheeling and his siblings were Zelma, Claude, Virginia and Ina Gail Wheeling. Clevo worked for Fairfax County as a Health Inspector and retired in the year of 1991. In his retirement, he always chose to do good works, volunteered his time to good causes, and was a wonderful craftsman. His favorite hobby was to take pictures of old Churches and then create a wooden birdhouse of those same churches.
Clevo's surviving family members include two sons, David and Darren, their spouses, Cynthia and Kam Lee, and two grandsons, Adam and Jason. One surviving sibling, Ina Gail Bower, and an extended family of nephews and nieces, their children and grandchildren.
Clevo is predeceased in death by his wife, Diane Marie Rolley Wheeling, his eldest son, and siblings, Steven Gower Wheeling, Zelma Verlander, Claude Wheeling and Virginia Stanley.
The family will see guests at the Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel on 1035 N Main Street, Hillsville, VA 24343 between the hours of 12:00pm to 1:00pm on March 13th, 2021, followed by a graveside service at 1:30 at nearby Myers Cemetery in Austinville, Virginia. Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel is serving the family.
