Cleamon Randolph Newman, 77 of Hillsville, passed away on Tuesday, January 29, 2008 at Waddell Nursing Home in Galax. Mr. Newman was born in Carroll County to the late Fred & Clair Whitt Newman. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a sister Freida Newman Stoneman. Mr. Newman is survived by his wife Obedia Lovill Newman of the home; children & spouses Berlin (Randy) & Michelle Newman of Willis, Vanada Sue Brannock of Hillsville and Rickie & Cynthia Newman of Hillsville; grandchildren & spouses Berlin (B.J.) & Lisa Newman, Contessa & Jerry Rogers, Danny & Leona Newman, Gary & Keisha Newman, Angel Brannock, and Terry Brannock; step grandchildren Timmy (Bubba) Brannock and Tammy Brannock; three great grandchildren three step great grandchildren; sister Nadean Newman Howell; special niece Linda Walls and uncle Neva Newman.

A graveside service with burial following will be held on Saturday, February 2, 2008 at Dalton Hill Cemetery at 11:00 AM with Pastor Chip Neely officiating. Military rites will be conducted by the Hillsville V.F.W. Post 1115. There will be no visitation at the funeral home; however the family will receive friends at the home anytime.
