Claude Owen Nester, Jr. 55 of Hillsville passed away on Monday, August 27, 2007 at his home. Mr. Nester is survived by his wife Mary Ruth Nester of the home; daughters & son-in-law Becky & Jamie Webb of Hillsville and Tonya Nester of Hillsville; step-children Mark Alan Miller, Jr. of Woodlawn and Rebecca Marie Miller of Hillsville; sisters Mary Frances Johnson of Raleigh, NC and Barbara Coble of Hillsville; mother-in-law Nancy Reeves Saferight of Hillsville; and grandchildren Drake Mathew Webb and Willow Brooke Webb.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, August 30, 2007 at 11:00 AM at Crooked Oak Baptist Church with Rev. Sandy Hendrick officiating. Burial will follow in the Crooked Oak Cemetery. The family will receive friends at Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel on Wednesday night from 6:00 until 8:00 PM. Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel is serving the family.
