Claude Hassell Banks, 82 of Hillsville, passed away on Thursday, January 15, 2009 at his home. Mr. Banks was born in Carroll County to the late Joseph & Inez Gardner Banks. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a son Douglas Roger Banks. He is survived by his wife Nina Goad Banks of the home; son Samuel Claude Banks of Fancy Gap; sister Mary Gladys Combs of Woodlawn; three grandchildren & spouses Christopher & Kerrie Banks, Jeremy & Carla Banks, and Shanna Banks; and one great grandson Landis Christopher Banks.

Funeral services will be held on Sunday, January 18, 2009 at Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel at 2:00 PM with Rev. Norman Goad officiating. Burial will follow in the Isaac Banks Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Saturday, January 17, 2009 from 6:00 until 8:00 PM.
