Clarence Durrell Bolen, 77, of Hillsville, passed away on Tuesday, June 11, 2013 at Twin County Regional Hospital. Mr. Bolen was born in Carroll County to the late Arby Jeff and Ellie Nora Woods Bolen. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his son, Alan Nelson Bolen; brothers, William James Bolen and Jess R. Bolen; and sisters, Linda Sharpe, Naydene Woodel, Earlene Isom, and Nannie Arlene Bowman. Survivors include his wife, Lora Q. Bolen of the home; children and spouses, David Bolen of Hillsville, Debbie Bolen of Galax, Connie and Jerome Branscome of Willis, and Greg and Cheryl Bolen of Hillsville; brothers, Robert Jeff Bolen and Garland Lee Bolen both of Hillsville; seven grandchildren; and two great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held on Friday, June 14, 2013 at Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel at 1:00 PM with Rev. Norman Goad officiating. Burial will follow in the Mitchell Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday, June 13, 2013 from 5:00 until 7:00 PM. Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel is serving the family.
