Obituary

Chester Allen Perdue, 61, born on July 5th, 1964 of 1068 Woodstock Road Meadows of Dan, Virginia, passed away September 28th, 2025 due to a tragic accident on I-77 Southbound near mile marker 72. On Sunday, a drunk driver took his life and his family's loving husband, father, grandfather, uncle, brother, and brother-in-law.

He was born in Princeton, West Virginia. Chester was an employee at EAS for more than 20 years. He loved his job, and thought a lot of the people he worked with there. He was the son of the late Basil Craft Perdue and Ella Jane Elledge. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his mother-in-law, Nina Atwell, and father-in-law, Dillard Atwell.

Survivors include his wife, Patricia Perdue; two daughters, Chasity Perdue and fiancé Troy Turman of Hillsville, VA, Cassie Perdue and her fiancé Tabatha Stuart of Hillsville, VA; one son, Chet Perdue of Hillsville, VA; one grandson, Chet 'little man' Perdue; four brothers, Ricky Perdue (Cindy) of Princeton, WV, Wayne Perdue (Bernadette) of Princeton, WV, Carl Perdue (Ellen) of Princeton, WV, and Kurt Perdue (Alisa) of Princeton, WV; one sister, Rena Perdue of Princeton, WV; two sister-in-laws, Ellen Perdue of Princeton, WV, and Shelia Carter of Mount Airy, NC; he is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

He was a wonderful man who worked hard and took care of everyone around him, even strangers. If you ever met Chester, you had a smile on your face. He was always positive, and he deeply loved his wife, Trish. He was a one of kind person, who brought love and joy to so many peoples lives, especially his family's. Everyone who knew him loved him, and he touched many people in many ways. There will never be anyone like him, and words cannot describe how deeply he will be missed by all of his friends and family.

Chester, ride around with the top down.
