Chester Goad, 88 of Galax, passed away on Tuesday, December 25, 2007 at Golden Living Center Blue Ridge. Mr. Goad is survived by his sister Callie Smith of Galax; two nieces Alee Goad of Hillsville and Shelby Barbaur of Roanoke; one nephew Russell Goad of Salem; and cousins Mary Lineback of Hillsville, Gary Lineback of Draper, Darrell Lineback of Hillsville, Judy Lineback of Hillsville and Barbara Vass of Wytheville.

A graveside service with burial following will be held on Thursday, December 27, 2007 at Woodlawn Cemetery at 3:00 PM with Rev. Norman Goad officiating. The family will receive friends from 2:30 until 3:00 PM on Thursday at the Woodlawn Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Twin County Hospice P.O. Box 106 Galax, VA 24333.
