Chester Calvin Edwards, 80, of Hillsville, VA passed away on October 6, 2007 at his residence. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Evangeline Diane Edwards. He is survived by his wife, Beulah Edwards of the home; a daughter, Cathie Lou Grimes of Hillsville; sons and daughters-in-law Dexter Edwards of Hillsville, Daymon and Patsy Edwards of Hillsville, Lloyd and Beth Edwards of Lake Wylie, SC; brother Ernest L. Edwards of Hillsville; sister Catherine Willis of Collinsville, VA; seven grandchildren, five great grandchildren, and two great great grandchildren.

The funeral service will be held on Tuesday, October 9, 2007 at 11:00 AM at St. Josephs Catholic Church in Woodlawn, with Father Charles Brickner officiating. Burial will follow in the Hicks Family Cemetery. The family will receive guests from 6 to 8 PM on Monday, October 8, 2007 at Vaughan Guynn McGrady Chapel. Military rites will be performed by Hillsville VFW Post 1115.
