Charlie Estel Ousley, Sr., 64 of Allisonia, finally received his day of rest on September 17, 2006. He fought a very courageous battle with cancer for a little over a year and finally went on to join the angel band in heaven where he is sure to be enjoying the bluegrass music and catching fish in Heavens golden ponds.

He was preceded in death by his father Charlie Cleveland Ousley, his mother Clara Belle Ousley and one sister Clara Mae Ousley Parsons. He leaves behind to cherish his memory his wife of 43 years, Joe Ann Duncan Ousley, along with his son, Rhondie Dean Ousley & spouse Viva of Allisonia, daughter Kendy Lynn Ousley of Pulaski, daughter Kathie Ousley DeCosta & spouse David of Dublin and son Charlie Estel Ousley, Jr. of Kernersville, NC; grandbabies Jessika Rage DeCosta, Mason Keeano DeCosta, Kayla Bethany Ousley and Logan Wyatt Ousley; one brother Wiley Ousley & spouse Connie of Dugspur; and sisters Ruth Henley & spouse Donald of Hillsville and Sylvia Taylor & spouse Jacob of Dugspur. Also surviving are several nieces and nephews, his special furry baby Kota Bear and a host of friends from Jefferson Mills where he was a devoted employee and supervisor for 40 years.

Funeral services will be Wednesday, September 20, 2006 at 11:00 A.M. at Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel with Pastor Michael Hall officiating. Burial will follow in the Allison Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 PM on Tuesday night at the funeral home.
