Charles Sonny Williams, 65 of Hillsville, passed away on Wednesday, July 18, 2007 at Forsyth Medical Center in Winston Salem. Mr. Williams was born to the late Otis Thurman and Vetra Mae Williams in Statesville, NC. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by two sisters Linda Quesenberry and Jane Collins and one brother Thurman Williams. Sonny is survived by his wife Melba Williams of the home; children & spouses Charles Eugene & Julia Williams of Mims, FL, Pamela Dawn Lawson of Galax, James Edward Williams of Hillsville, Debra Darlene & Bill Davis of Cana, Joseph Lee & Rachel Williams of Bedford, and Beverly May & Darnell Slater of Winston Salem, NC; sisters Sue Brown of Woodlawn, Reva Lowe Galax and Bernice Padgett of Woodlawn; brother James Carney Williams of Woodlawn; several grandchildren and great grandchildren; several half and step brothers and sisters; and special Mom-in-law Lucy Heldreth.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, July 20, 2007 at 2:00 PM at West Side Baptist Church with Frank Jones officiating. Burial will follow in the Mt. Olivet Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the church on Thursday night from 6:00 to 8:00 PM.
