Charles Moses Southern, 85 of Austinville, passed away on Friday, February 22, 2008 at his residence. Mr. Southern was born in Carroll County to the late James Sterling & Calista Allen Southern. He is survived by his wife Shirley Parker Southern of the home; children & spouses Charles Michael Southern of Austinville, Nancy Humphreys of Wytheville, Janice & Ronnie Gardner of Lynchburg; and Kathy & Phillip Hawks of Mt. Airy, NC; five grandchildren Jason Gardner, Amy Lyle, Cameron Lineback, Kevin Southern, and Brian Southern; one great granddaughter Kara Lyle; and sister Mae Parnell of Austinville.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, February 25, 2008 at Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel at 11:00 AM with Mr. Jack King and Pastor Russell Payne officiating. Burial will follow in the White Allen Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Sunday night from 6:00 until 8:00 PM.
