Charles Russell Johnston, 64 of Hillsville, passed away Monday, August 13, 2007 at his residence. He was preceded in death by a grandson Austin Hunter Johnston. Mr. Johnston is survived by his wife Yvonne W. Johnston of the home; son & daughter-in-law Rusty & Mitzi Johnston of Hillsville; daughter & son-in-law Yvette & Mark Ryan of Austinville; sisters & brothers-in-law Lois & Harold Sutherland and Audrey & Hale Jennelle all of Radford; four grandchildren Nikki Ryan, Sean Ryan, Megan Ryan and Harley Johnston; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, August 15, 2007 at 11:00 AM at Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel with Rev. David Bays officiating. Masonic Rites will be conducted by the Hillsville Masonic Lodge #193 A.F. & A.M. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday night from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM.
