Charles (Jack) Henry Goad, 78 of Meadows of Dan, passed away Thursday, October 19, 2006 at Trinity Mission of Hillsville. Mr. Goad is survived by his wife Betty Ilene Goad of the home; children Bobby Lee Goad and wife Gracie of Laurel Fork, James R. Goad and wife Dorothy of Fancy Gap, Ruby Gardner and husband Carson of Meadows of Dan, Gladys Faye Pierpoint of Ohio, Mike Goad and fiance Pat Mabry of Meadows of Dan and Roger Leon Goad and wife Cindy of Hillsville; twelve grandchildren; twelve great grandchildren; special sister-in-law Florence Goad and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be Sunday, October 22, 2006 at Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel at 2:00 PM with Rev. Norman Goad and Rev. Joe Quesenberry officiating. Burial will follow in the Largen Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7:00 to 9:00 PM on Saturday night at the funeral home.
