Charles Lucas Farmer, 81 of Hillsville, passed away on Saturday, October 9, 2021 at Northern Regional Hospital. Mr. Farmer was born in Carroll County on August 27, 1940 to the late John Riley and Ethel May Semones Farmer. In addition to his parents, Mr. Farmer was also preceded in death by two brothers, John Riley Farmer, Jr. and Carl Odell Farmer; three sisters, Dorothy Roberts, Louise Hylton and Evelyn Farmer; and daughter-in-law, Kim Farmer.

Survivors include his loving wife of 60 years, Louise Gallimore Farmer; daughters, Rhonda Boyd (Jason), and Robin McGee (Channie); sons, Charles Dean Farmer (Cathy), Kim Lee Farmer (Donna), and Kevin Farmer (Karen); sister, Alice (Nikki) Villalobos; fourteen grandchildren; twelve great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Lucas is most remembered for his many years of hard work and dedication to the Town of Hillsville's Maintenance & Water Department. He was always up for a challenge and a lifelong problem solver. Many called on him throughout the years. Thus, you don't have to travel far to hear a story of Lucas coming to one's aid. He will truly be missed by his family and all those who knew him.

Funerals services will be held on Wednesday, October, 13, 2021 at Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel at 2:00 PM with Brother Garry Allen, Brother Jack Anderson, Brother Kim Lee Farmer and Brother Jamie Orange officiating. Burial will follow in the Skyline Independent Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday, October 12, 2021 from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM. Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel is serving the family.
