Charles "Freddie" Currin, 92, of Hillsville, passed away on Sunday, October 18, 2015 at Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center. Mr. Currin was born in Radford, Virginia to the late Charles Lincoln and Virginia Childress Currin. In addition to his parents, Mr. Currin was also preceded in death by a son, Charles Arthur Currin. Survivors include his wife, Hallie Currin of the home; children and spouses, Jerry Currin and Joyce of Hillsville, Carol Currin Padgett and Jack of Loudon, TN, Susan Webb of Hillsville, Jane Currin of Knoxville, TN, Fred Ward Currin and Tracey Edwards of Hillsville; sisters, Frances Currin Charles of Bristol and Lois Anne Currin Rector of Edgewater, FL; grandchildren, Shelly Currin Horton, Sheila Currin Richmond, Wendy Webb Kaylor, Brenda Webb Leath, Charles Currin, Catherine Currin, and Stryker Currin; five great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, October 21, 2015 at 11:00 AM at Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel with Rev. Maria Grimm officiating. Burial will follow in Mountain Plains Cemetery. Military rites will be conducted by the Hillsville Grover King Post 1115 V.F.W. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday, October 20, 2015 from 6:00 until 8:00 PM.
