Charles Hardman Bowes, 73 of Laurel Fork, passed away on Wednesday, August 2, 2017 at Northern Hospital of Surry County. Mr. Bowes was born in Greenbriar, WV to the late Blanchard Taylor and Mary Bell Dotson Bowes.

Survivors include his wife, Gail L. Bowes of the home; daughter, Janet Mitchell (Kevin) of Bonifay, FL; son, Jason Taft (Cara Deane) of Orange, MA; brothers, Bobby Bowes (Sharon) of Franklin, NC and John Bowes of White Sulphur Springs, WV; sisters Betty Tuday of Eufaula, OK, Anna Fowler (Arden) of Catabaw, VA Jane Pitsenberger of Bassett, VA and Shirley Sizemore of Statesville, NC; and grandchildren, Karen and Kruz Mitchell.

A memorial service will be held at a later date. Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel is serving the family.
