Cecil C. Bond, Sr., 71, of Hillsville, passed away on Tuesday, January 24, 2012 at Baptist Medical Center Palliative Care. Mr. Bond was born in Carroll County to the late Roscoe "Shorty" and Delilah Worrell Bond. In addition to his parents he was also preceded in death by his brothers Jack Bond, Melvin Bond, and Cleon Bond; sister Vernia Fay Goodson; and granddaughters J. Renee White and Elizabeth V. Bond. Survivors include his wife Nancy Bond of the home; daughter Delilah J. Bond of Alaska; sons and daughters-in-law John J. and Shannon Bond of North Carolina, Cecil C. Bond, Jr. of North Carolina, Jackson V. & Michele Bond of South Carolina, James E. and Renae Bond of Washington and Cecil B. Bond of North Carolina; sisters and brother-in-law Mildred and John Rakes of Wytheville, Mary Ellen Quesenberry of Virginia, and Judy Sifford of Hillsville; brother and sister-in-law James O. and Arji Bond of California; 25 grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren; lots of nieces, nephews, and cousins; and special daughters Telitha and Jackie Carter and Samara and Allen Lunceford. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, January 28, 2012 at 2:00 PM at Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel with Pastor Michael Bond officiating. Burial will follow in the Surratt Cemetery. Masonic Rites will be conducted at the funeral service by Old Town Lodge 68. The family will receive friends on Saturday one hour prior to the funeral service. Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel is serving the family.
