Cathie Lou Grimes, 66 of Hillsville, went home to be with our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on November 6, 2021. Ms. Grimes was born on October 20, 1955 to the late Chester and Beulah Miller Edwards. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by a sister, Evangeline Diane Edwards.

All who knew Cathie recognized her kind heart, selflessness, and willingness to help others. She loved animals, especially dogs. She was a hard-working and exceptional person who will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.

Survivors include her daughter, Robin Lindamood (Chris); grandchildren, Hannah Lindamood and Cole Lindamood; brothers, Dexter Edwards, Daymon Edwards (Patsy), and Lloyd Edwards (Lisa Ballard); special nieces and nephew Kimberly Hundley, Isaac Edwards, Sarah Edwards Sylvester, Tayler Edwards, Jessica Frazier, and Cassandra Frazier, very special niece and best friend Ranee Edwards; and best friend of 53 years, Irene Reece.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, November 10, 2021 at the Shorts Creek Church of God at 11:00 AM with Pastor Gerald Humphrey and Pastor Timothy McBride officiating. Burial will follow in the Hicks Family Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the church on Wednesday from 10:00 until 11:00 AM prior to the funeral service. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Kidney Fund, 11921 Rockville Pike, Suite 300, Rockville, MD 20852. Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel is serving the family.
