Carroll Edward Stone, 74, of Draper passed away on Thursday, February 16, 2012. Mr. Stone was the owner and operator of Sunshine Tours in Dublin, Virginia. He was born in Carroll County to the late Pierce and Stella Bryant Stone. In addition to his parents he was also preceded in death by his brothers Clyde Stone and Bill Stone and sisters Opal Horton and Lois Chapman. Mr. Stone is survived by his wife Joyce Stone of the home; two sisters Clara Gills of Arlington and Kathleen Gravley of Austinville; sisters-in-law Geraldine Wilbanks of Greenville, SC, Eleanor Stone of Wilmington, DE and Gladys Stone of Austinville; special sister-in-law Norma Sue Alderman of Woodlawn; eight nieces; six nephews; fifteen great nieces and nephews; and his Sunshine Family. Funeral services will be held on Monday, February 20, 2012 at Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel at 2:00 PM with Craig Strain and Pastor Russell Payne officiating. Burial will follow in Coulson Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Sunday, February 19, 2012 from 5:00 until 8:00 PM. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Humane Society. Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel is serving the family.
