Carolyn Lee Sumner Worrell, 78 of Laurel Fork and formerly of Hillsville, passed away on Tuesday, December 16, 2025 at Heritage Hall Laurel Meadows.  Ms. Worrell was born on June 15, 1947 to the late Otto and Mary Clements Sumner.

Carolyn had the biggest, brightest smile and the sweetest personality of anyone to ever walk this earth. Her son and grandchildren were her greatest blessings in life and she spoiled them and loved on them all accordingly

Carolyn is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Allen and Crystal Worrell; grandsons, Jordan Worrell and Jackson Worrell; granddaughter, Monika Marshall; siblings, Judy Leonard (Dwain) and Curtis Sumner (Sandra); nieces and nephews, Rhonda Shay, Alan Leonard, Stacy Sumner, and Curt Sumner; and several great-nieces and great-nephews.

A funeral service will be held on Saturday, December 20, 2025 at Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel at 11:00 AM with David Broyles officiating.  Burial will follow in Monta Vista Memory Gardens.  A visitation will be held on Saturday from 10:00 until 11:00 AM prior to the funeral service.  In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady to offset funeral expenses. Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel is serving the family.
