Carolyn Sue Gardner, 55 of Woodlawn, passed away on Wednesday, July 29, 2009 at her home. Mrs. Gardner was born in North Carolina to the late Elmer Scott & Gladys Lucille Edwards Tate. She is survived by her husband Buford (Leroy) Gardner of the home; daughter & son-in-law Christina & Wade Tate of Woodlawn; son & daughter-in-law Michael Scott & Frances Dalton of Galax; sisters & brothers-in-law Rachel & Terry Davis and Phyllis & Jay Grandel all of Fancy Gap; brother & sister-in-law Donald & Gloria Tate of Danville; and three grandchildren Dustin Wade Tate, Tiffani Paige Tate and Jordan Scott Dalton.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, July 31, 2009 at Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel at 1:00 PM with Rev. Landon Cole officiating. Burial will follow in the Woodlawn Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday, July 30, 2009 from 6:00 until 8:00 PM.
