Carmie D. Barr, 75 of Hillsville, passed away on Friday, January 28, 2011 at Heritage Hall Laurel Meadows. Mr. Barr was born in Carroll County to the late Robert Thomas and Alma Mae Barr. He is survived by his wife Annie Ruth Barr of the home; daughter & son-in-law Roxanne & Dean Bowers and sons & daughter-in-law Michael & Michele Barr and Jeff Barr all of Hillsville; brothers & sister-in-law Dorless & Shelba Barr of Hillsville and Joseph Daniel (J.D.) Barr of Mount Airy, NC; six grandchildren Michael (Pudge) Bowers, Nikki Bowers, Cody Bowers, Matthew Herring, Marcus Barr, and Mason Barr; and two great grandchildren Aaralyn Manns and Jordan Manns.

A memorial service will be held on Sunday, January 30, 2011 at Green Mountain Baptist Church at 2:00 PM with Rev. Nathan Montgomery officiating. Military Rites will be conducted by the Hillsville V.F.W. Post 1115. The family will receive friends at the church on Sunday from 1:00 until 2:00 PM prior to the service. Inurnment will be at Gladesboro Cemetery.
