Obituary

Carlos D. Coulson, 80, husband of Rebecca E. Coulson, entered into rest on Monday, March 23, 2015. Mr. Coulson, a native of Carroll County, Virginia, retired with over 21 years of service from the United States Amy and had served in Vietnam. He was also retired from the City of Thomson Police Department, the McDuffie County Sheriff's Department and a retired McDuffie County Bailiff. Survivors include his wife, Rebecca E. Coulson; five sons, Garry Coulson (Vivian), Larry Coulson (Sherrie), Timothy Coulson (Kathy), Thomas Coulson (Frances), and Keith Campbell (Paula); three step-children, Sandra Campbell, Jean Evans and Cindy Key; 11 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Floyd and Sylvia Coulson, and his wife Rita M. Coulson. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, March 25, 2015, from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Starling-Evans Funeral Home, Harlem, Ga. Mr. Coulson will be conveyed to Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel, Hillsville, Virginia. Graveside services with burial following will be held on Friday, March 27, 2015 at 2:00 P.M. in Monta Vista Memory Gardens, Galax, Virginia, with the Rev. Kevin Miley officiating. Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel is serving the family locally.
