Carl Richard Forrester, Sr. 82 of Hillsville, passed away on Saturday, October 4, 2025 at Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital.  Mr. Forrester was born in Washington County, Virginia to the late Hardin Alvin and Ruth Ella Mabe Forrester.  In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his son, Carl Richard "Richie" Forrester, Jr. and several siblings.

Survivors include his wife, Hilda Jackson Forrester; daughter, Sharon Lewis (Bernie); special grandson, Brandon Koger; great-grandsons, Brantley Koger and Gannon Koger; and sister, Marge Shaffer and Patsy Marshall.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, October 10, 2025 at Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel at 2:00 PM with Pastor R. J. Buttery officiating.  Burial will follow in the Gardner Memorial Cemetery.  The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday from1:00 until 2:00 PM prior to the funeral service.  Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel is serving the family.
