Callie Maynard Vass, 83 of Hillsville, passed away on Monday, January 18, 2010 at Trinity Mission of Hillsville. Mrs. Vass was preceded in death by her husband R. Rhudy Vass; parents India Davis and Andrew Maynard; and brother Dwaine Davis. She is survived by her children Randy Vass of Hillsville, Carolyn Alderman & husband Tom of Hillsville, and Patricia Vass of Galax; brother & sister-in-law Bobby & Martha Davis of Fries; sister & brother-in-law Shelby & Dorless Barr of Hillsville; sister-in-law Jackie Davis of Hillsville; five grandchildren & spouses Jeffrey & Darlene Vass, Scott & Allison Alderman, Craig Bowman, Amy & Mark Turbyfill, and Travis & Danielle Alderman; and 11 great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, January 21, 2010 at Crooked Oak Missionary Baptist Church at 11:00 AM with Rev. Oscar Hill and Rev. Sanford Hendrick officiating. Burial will follow in the Crooked Oak Cemetery. The family will receive friends at Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel on Wednesday, January 20, 1010 from 6:00 until 8:00 PM.
