Burton Tate, 71 of Ararat, passed away Wednesday, July 19, 2006 at R.J. Reynolds Patrick County Memorial Hospital. Mr. Tate was preceded in death by his parents Doll & Dellie Tate. He is survived by his wife Sylvia Lou Tate of the home; daughter Trudy Tate of Ararat; son & daughter-in-law Wade & Christina Tate of Woodlawn; sisters Irene Burcham and Ruby Robertson both of Cana; four grandchildren Alesha Marion, Dustin Tate, Timothy Albert, and Tiffani Tate; and three great grandchildren Allison Marion, Michelle Marion, and Peyton Marion.

Funeral services will be Saturday, July 22, 2006 at 11:00 A.M. at Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel with the Rev. Jay Grandell officiating. Burial will follow in the Sandy Ridge Cemetery. Friends will be received from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. on Friday night at the funeral home. The family would like to extend a special Thank You to Blue Ridge Nursing Home and to all the nurses.
