Buford Jason Edwards, 85 of Hillsville, passed away on Monday, August 16, 2021 at his home. Mr. Edwards was born in Carroll County to the late Curtis Jefferson and Elva Alverta Harmon Edwards. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by a sister, Dorothy Bedsaul.

Survivors include his wife, Jeanne Edwards; daughter, Vanessa Dobbins; sons, Sam Riffey (Racheal) and Robert Riffey; grandchildren, Amber Clark (Brian), Justin Dobbins (Katrina), Lee Riffey (Kim), Nick Riffey (Jessica), Samantha Riffey, and Joseph Lowe; great-grandchildren, Andrew Clark, Landon Clark, Ethan Clark, Hailey Dobbins, Gracie Dobbins, Ahliyah Riffey, Cooper Riffey, Lexi, Lucy and Harper Schoolcraft, and Roxy Lowe; sister, Helen Golding (Dickie); brother, Clayton Edwards; and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, August 19, 2021 at Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel at 7:00 PM with Rev. Russell Payne and Rev. Harold Boyd officiating. Burial will be in the James Robinson Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday from 6:00 until 7:00 PM prior to the service. The family request no flowers and suggest in lieu of flowers, a donation be made to Coulson Church c/o Norma Newman, Treasurer, 4272 Coulson Church Road, Hillsville, VA 24343. Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel is serving the family.
