Brian Wayne Horton, 55, of Hillsville, Virginia, passed away Tuesday, July 22nd, 2025.
Brian was born on March 27th, 1970, in Galax, Virginia.
He is remembered in life by his wife, Christina Horton;
His sons, Jonathan Horton and Garrett Horton;
Grandchildren, Harper Horton and Aidan Horton;
Mother and step-father, Mary Horton Marshall and Joe Marshall;
Father and step-mother, Lester Horton and Jan Horton;
Special daughter-in-law, Hannah Dalton;
Step-sister, April Byrd;
And special aunt, Mamie Sawyers.
Brian was a lover of his family;
There was never a conversation about his life where his family was not the largest part of it.
He was a devoted son, husband, father, and grandfather.
He frequently told his sons how much he loved them, and how special his grandchildren were to him.
Brian loved music, especially Rock N' Roll;
Every morning, the bathroom in the home would blast music throughout the house.
He loved to sing, and in his earlier days, he would write and perform original music for the Church. He was an All-State Choir Member in school.
Brian was a good man;
Brian Wayne Horton was a man that nobody ever had anything negative to say about. His friends and family only have positive and loving things to say about him. Whether he was at work, on vacation, or just enjoying life;
People loved Brian. They loved his humor, his energy, his calm demeanor. There are so many wonderful stories of Brian, and his experiences with people.
Brian was a Life Scout in the Boy Scouts of America;
He was one rank shy of Eagle Scout, but he raised two sons that both have their Eagle Scout. Brian lived his life by the Scout Law.
A Scout is Trustworthy, Loyal, Helpful, Friendly, Courteous, Kind, Obedient, Cheerful, Thrifty, Brave, Clean, and Reverent.
Brian loved Jesus;
While we each face our own battles, and have our own personal walks and conversations with God, Brian loved the Lord, and had asked Jesus to come into his life.
He is home with his grandmother, "Bank" Betty Grandma, and they are laughing until their ribs hurt.
Please remember his surviving family in your thoughts and prayers, as we all loved him dearly.
A graveside service with burial following will be held on Saturday, July 26th, 2025 at Mountain Plains Cemetery at 11:00am with Pastor Michael Shockley officiating. Vaughn-Guynn-McGrady Chapel is serving the family.
