Obituary

Brenda Sue Meador Quesenberry
February 3, 1948 - December 21, 2016
After a courageous four year battle with Alzheimer's disease, Brenda walked into the loving arms of her Lord and Savior on December 21, 2016. Brenda was born February 3, 1948 in Roanoke, Virginia and graduated from Cave Spring High School. She was retired from Norfolk Southern Corporation.
She was the second of four daughters born to the late Harold and Audrey Meador and was the beloved wife of Gleeon L. Quesenberry, Jr. for over 33 years. Brenda will forever be remembered and missed by family members who survive her: Husband, GL, daughters Anita (Bill) Laurent, Jennifer (Cary) Bednarek, and Christie (Keith) Soverns, granddaughter Alena (Dan) Horvath and great granddaughter Zara Lynn Horvath.
She is also survived by three loving sisters and their husbands, Wanda (Stuart) Boblett, Kathryn (Allen) LaVoie, and Molly (Bob) Pinner, her mother-in-love, Pearl Spivey Quesenberry, sister-in-love, Delite (David) Fogg and many nieces, nephews, and countless other friends and family who were blessed to know her.
Brenda loved listening to music, playing the piano, painting, making beautiful stained glass artwork, birdwatching (particularly those hummingbirds), gardening, home canning, sewing, laughing, being with her family, having fun with her friends and most of all, going to church, reading her Bible and worshipping her Lord who died for the sins of all.
Brenda touched the lives of many people with her smile and generosity, and was known for being a selfless person who put others first.
Brenda would ask you today, if you have never accepted Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior, why not? He died for YOUR sins and she wants you to join her in Heaven one day. You have nothing to lose, and eternity to gain.
The family thanks the doctors, nurses and staff at TCRH and Commonwealth Assisted Living personnel for their care and kindness. Special thanks to Senior Home Share staff, Jennifer, Shannon G., Brooke, and Shannon P. Thanks also to Blue Ridge Home Health, Amanda W. and others. Finally, gratitude is given to Mountain Valley Hospice and staff. Brenda loved you all and knew you loved her too.
Visitation will be at Coulson Church of the Brethren, 4127 Coulson Church Road, Hillsville, VA 24343 on Thursday, December 22 from 6-8 PM as well as one hour before the funeral service.
The family will have the service to celebrate her life at Coulson Church of the Brethren on Friday, December 23 at 1:00 PM with Pastor Hal Sonafrank and Pastor Harry Shelton officiating. Burial will follow at the church cemetery.
Donations may be made to Coulson Church of the Brethren or to your favorite charity. Vaughn-Guynn-McGrady Chapel is serving the family.
