Bonnie Faye McGrady Vass, 88 of Hillsville, passed away on Thursday, August 1, 2019 at Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center. Mrs. Vass was born in Carroll County, VA to the late Richard Hobert and Myrtie Dickerson McGrady. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, James Posie Vass; sons, Terry "Tiny" Vass, Jimmy Vass, Mark Vass, and Stuart "Petie" Vass; and brothers, Clayton McGrady, Herbert McGrady, L.D. McGrady and Jack McGrady.

Survivors include her daughters, Debra Vass of Galax; Donna Joyce of Hillsville, and Diane Wiggins of Hillsville; sisters, Hulen Banks of Hillsville and Nancy Goad and Russell of Floyd; eleven grandchildren; fifteen great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; sisters-in-law, Lois Jean McGrady of Hillsville, Vesta Lee McGrady of Hillsville, Sandra McGrady of Dugspur, and Faye McGrady of Roanoke and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.

Funeral services will be held at Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel on Monday, August 5, 2019 at 2:00 PM with Elder Lewis Vass and Elder Jerry Nester officiating. Burial will follow in the Nester Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Sunday, August 4, 2019 from 6:00 until 8:00 PM.  Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel is serving the family.
