Bobby Joe Sutphin, 83 of Laurel Fork, passed away on Monday, December 30, 2024 at his home.  Mr. Sutphin was born in Carroll County, Virginia to the late Alvey Edmond and Clyde Belle Alderman Sutphin.  In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by a son, Tony Sutphin; and a brother, Ed Sutphin.

Survivors include his wife, Gail B. Sutphin; daughter and son-in-law, Bumblebee and Shannon Hicks; son and daughter-in-law, Michael and Kelly Sutphin; nine grandchildren, Zeb Hicks, Tony Hicks, Wilford Hicks, Josiah Hicks, Zeke Hicks, Tom Sutphin, Emma Oakes, Hannah Greer, and Daniel Sutphin; and twelve great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, January 3, 2025 at Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel at 1:00 PM with Pastor Joe Young officiating.  Burial will follow in the C.B. Webb Cemetery.  The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday, January 2, 2025 at Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel from 6:00 until 8:00 PM.  Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel is serving the family.
