Obituary

Blanche E. Quesenberry, who resided 76 of her 78 years in Floyd and Carroll Counties, passed away, April 20, 2011, at North Park Assisted Living in Sioux City Iowa, where she had resided since October of 2009. She passed away from complications following hip fracture, and congestive heart failure. She was born in her grandparent's home near the Floyd/ Carroll County line. She was raised in the "Deep Water" area of Indian Valley Virginia. After marrying Seldon, she worked in textiles at Dan River Mills in Danville, Virginia. Subsequently she spent most of her life as a homemaker and working on the farm in Willis, Virginia. She enjoyed quilting and gardening. She attended the Indian Valley Primitive Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband Seldon F. Quesenberry, her parents Kelly and Dorothy Buckner, and her sister Rosie Stilwell. She is survived by her son and daughter in law, James and Shannon Quesenberry, and grandsons, John, Joshua, and Orion, all of Sioux City, Iowa.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, April 25, 2011 at Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel at 7:00 PM with Pastor Frank Jones officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Monday evening beginning at 5:30 PM and lasting until service time. A graveside service and burial will be on Tuesday, April 26, 2011 at the Quesenberry Family Cemetery at 11:00 AM.
