Blanche P. Collier, 79, of Dugspur, went to be with her Lord on Friday, August 10, 2007. Mrs. Collier was born in Dugspur on August 14, 1927, daughter of the late P.C. Phillips and Lucy Dalton Phillips. Blanche was a member of the Bethel Brethren in Christ Church, and she helped operate the family Texaco/Citgo dealership and assisted the Dugspur Rescue Squad. Also, Blanche taught at Marshall Hill School in Dugspur during her earlier years.

Blanche is predeceased by her grandson, Jonathan Boyd. She is survived by her husband of 53 years, Avis H. Collier. Three daughters and sons-in-law, Becky and Roger Alderman, Debbie and Nelson Goad, and Jill and Zane Saunders, all of Carroll County, survive Mrs. Collier. Also surviving are grandchildren Isaac and Anna Saunders, and Roger Alderman, Jr.; sisters, Minnie Hull, Vesta Quesenberry and Lincoln; brothers, James Phillips, Jordan Phillips and Vivian; sisters-in-law, Helen Collier and Naomi Collier; brother-in-law, Jim Michael; special nephew, Jimmie Phillips; and many nieces and nephews. A graveside service will be held Monday at 11:00 AM at Cox Cemetery beside the Dugspur Rescue Squad Building. The Rev. Carl Ginder will officiate. The family will receive friends following the service at the squad building.
