Betty Jean Smith, 74 of Hillsville, passed away on Wednesday, September 10, 2008 at Forsyth Medical Center. Mrs. Smith was born in Grayson County to the late Clayton & Ollie Bowers Rotenberry. She is survived by her husband James Woodrow Smith; son Larry Lovell of Hillsville; daughter Marcella Smith-Sy of Fancy Gap; brother & sister-in-law Ilow & Lorene Rotenberry of Homestead, FL; and grandson Benjamin Ryan Sy.

Funeral service will be held on Saturday, September 13, 2008 at Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel at 2:00 PM with Rev. Norman Goad officiating. Ladies Auxiliary Rites will be conducted by the Hillsville V.F.W. Post 1115 Ladies Auxiliary. Entombment will follow in Monta Vista Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday, September 12, 2008 from 6:00 until 8:00 PM.
