Betty L. Shepard Wright, 67, of Lebanon, VA passed away on Saturday, July 15, 2006. She was born on November 16, 1938 in Big Rock, VA. She was the daughter of Nona Velma Shortridge Shepard and John Earl Shepard. Mrs. Wright was preceded in death by her husband, William Wayne Wright (US Army Retired), a brother, Jerry Lee Shepard; and a sister, Priscilla Faye Shepard. She is survived by two daughters, Barbara A. Wright Johnson of Whiteford, MD, Robin Denise Wright Trent, of Barboursville, VA; one son, William Wayne Wright, Of Barboursville, VA; four brothers, Roger D. Shepard, William Shepard, J.E. Shepard, all of Bristol, TN, Robert Shepard of Fredericksburg, MD; a sister, Annette Nicholas of PA; and two grandsons, Brandon and Tyler Johnson.

Services will be on Tuesday, July 18, 2006 at 11:00 AM at the Vaughan Guynn McGrady Chapel in Hillsville, VA, with the Rev. Norman Goad officiating. Burial will follow in the Dinwiddie Cemetery. The family will be receiving friends on Monday, July 17, 2006 from 6 to 8 PM at Vaughan Guynn McGrady Chapel.
