Betty Ruth Johnson, 62, of Wytheville passed away on December 20, 2008 at Carrington Place in Wytheville. She was preceded in death by her parents, Reuben Edward Johnson & Opal Geneva Brady Johnson; sister Janie Darlene Johnson; and nephew Michael Allen Arnold. Ms. Johnson is survived by sisters and brothers-in-law Pat & Elgin Dixon of Hillsville, Brenda Johnson of Stuart, Anna & Gary Sutphin of Hillsville; brother and sister-in-law J. R. & Amy Johnson of Hillsville; half sister Faye Jefferson of Fries; nieces and nephews Kevin, Lisa, Robbie, Bridgett, and Terry; great nieces and nephews Shyann, Ethan, Emily, Marie, Nicholas, Destiny, Taylor, Josie, Maranda, Logan, and Laken; and many cousins and friends.

The funeral service will be on Tuesday, December 23, 2008 at 11:00 AM at the Vaughan Guynn McGrady Chapel, with Pastor Ron Fredericks, Rev. Elvin Nunley, and Pastor Bob Davis officiating. Burial will follow in the Mt. Olivet Methodist Cemetery in Fries. The family will receive friends on Monday, December 22, 2008 from 7 to 9 PM at the funeral home.
