Betty C. Horton, 96, of Hillsville, Virginia passed away Thursday, April 18, 2024 in the Hillsville Rehabilitation and Health Center.  Mrs. Horton was born in Waynesburg, Ohio August 18, 1927 to the late Delmer and Frances Eibel Hockenberry.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Conley Preston Horton, eight (8) brothers and one (1) sister.

Mrs. Horton has a large and loving family.  She is survived by sons Lester Wayne Horton (Jan) and Carlon Lee Horton (Darlene), daughter Anita Horton; brother Ron Hockenberry and sister Shirley Essig.  Her many grandchildren are:  granddaughter's and spouses are Melissa O. Folsom (Ray), Deborah Ogle, Carrie Sheets (Jason), Heather Hylton (Travis), grandson Brian W. Horton (Christina); great granddaughters Jada M. Sheets, Zoey P. Hylton and Chloe Galyean; great grandsons Jonathan Horton, Garrett Horton, Tucker Lee Hylton, and Grayson C. Sheets.  The great great-grandchildren are Harper Horton and Aidan Horton.  Special cat Peekaboo is also surviving.

A Graveside service will be held Monday, April 22, 2024 at 2:00 PM in the Thomas Alderman Cemetery with Rev. Jack Danley officiating.  There will be no visitation at the funeral home.
