Bettie Jo Fariss, 87, of Hillsville, passed away on Wednesday, July 22, 2015 at her home. Mrs. Fariss was born in West Virginia to the late John Kemper and Mary Jane Bowman Cassell. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Fariss was also preceded in death by her husband, Ralph Chester Fariss. Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law, Dr. Mike and Linda Fariss of Hillsville; grandson and spouse, Jonathan and Brooke Fariss of Laurel Fork and numerous great grandchildren. A graveside service and burial will be held on Friday, July 24, 2015 at 2:00 PM at Monta Vista Memory Gardens with Pastor Michael Shockley officiating. The family will receive friends at Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel from 12:30 until 1:30 PM prior to the graveside service. Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel is serving the family.
