Bette "Bitsy" Jonette Stanley, 87 of Laurel Fork, passed away on Wednesday, April 17, 2024 at her home.  Mrs. Stanley was born in San Angelo, TX to the late James and Ilene Cornelison Lankford.

Bitsy met her husband, Lowell Stanley, when he was stationed in Albuquerque, New Mexico during his military service. They were married for 65 years.  In addition to her husband, she is also survived by her children, Annetta Stanley (Danny Johnson), Karen Pelech (George), Jamey Stanley (Trina), and Tracy Coelho (Joe); sister, Phyllis Chapman (Stanton); twelve grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

The family would like to express a special thank you to Gentiva Hospice, nurse, Brittany Lineberry, and aides, Kaylee Knuckles and Samantha Doane.  They also extend a sincere thank you to special caregiver, Sarah Cox.

A graveside service will be held on Monday, April 22, 2024 at 11:00 AM at Gardner Memorial Cemetery with Rev. Lonnie Hylton officiating.  In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Gentiva Hospice, 245 Holston Road, Ste. A Wytheville, VA 24382 or to the Gideon Memorial Bible Secretery P.O. Box 1897, Hillsville, VA 24343.  Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel is serving the family.
