Bessie Easter Jones Bond, 90 of Cana, passed away Wednesday, April 12, 2006 at Northern Hospital of Surry County. Mrs. Bond was preceded in death by her parents Joseph & Annette Leftwich Easter; husbands Larkin I. Jones and Roscoe Bond; son Marvin Jones; grandchildren Stacey Edwards and Kim Jones; brothers Vestal Easter, Carnis Easter, Loy Easter and Arthur Easter; and sisters Lessie Tilley and Grady Hawks. Bessie is survived by her daughters & sons-in-law Margaret & Paul Jones of Cana and Marie & Stanley Edwards of Cana; sons & daughters-in-law Clayton & Shirley Jones of Cana, Clarence & Joann Jones of Cana, Garnett & Linda Jones of Cana, Melvin & Bonnie Jones of Cana, Marlie & Gracie Jones of Cana, Murphy & Rose Jones of Cana, and L.J. & Terry Leigh Jones of Cana; 24 grandchildren; 20 great grandchildren and special friend Gary Cagle.

Funeral services will be Saturday, April 15, 2006 at Pauls Creek Baptist Church at 3:00 P.M. with the Rev. Larry Jones and the Rev. Johnny Easter officiating. Burial will follow in the Jones & King Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. on Friday night at Pauls Creek Baptist Church. The family will also receive friends at 1067 Pauls Creek Road, Cana, VA.
