Bertha L. Haynes, 92 of Hillsville, passed away on Monday, December 9, 2013 at Golden Living Center Blue Ridge. Mrs. Haynes was born in Carroll County, VA to the late Ira Colon and Clara Matilda Leonard Bevil. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, Gray Glenn Haynes; and granddaughter, Teresa Haynes. Survivors include her children, Marie and Joe Cook of Woodlawn, Joyce and Kenneth Shockley of Hillsville, Ann Davis of Galax, Eva Sue and James Bryant of Hillsville, David and Lamyra Haynes of Pilot Mountain, NC, and William and Anita Haynes of Woodlawn; sister, Margie Stoneman of Bassett; brother and sister-in-law, Romey and Charlotte Bevil of Fancy Gap; twelve grandchildren; twenty great grandchildren; and five great-great grandchildren. A graveside service with burial following will be held on Wednesday, December 11, 2013 at 1:00 PM at Woodlawn Cemetery with Pastor Sammy Burnette and Pastor Jason Simpkins officiating. Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel is serving the family.
