Bertha Shupe Beasley departed this life on Wednesday, November 1, 2006 after an extended illness. She died at the home of her daughter and son-in-law, Lee and Linda Edmonds in Woodlawn.
She was born on April 14, 1917 to Ballard and Celia Shupe. She lived in the Shorts Creek section of Carroll County her entire lire and was a devoted Christian member of the Round Knob Church of Christ.
Bertha is survived by two daughters and a son-in-law Euna Fae Newman of Austinville and Linda & Lee Edmonds of Woodlawn. She also is survived by a brother & sister-in-law Cecil & Annabelle Shupe of Max Meadows; 12 grandchildren; 22 great grandchildren and 14 great-great grandchildren.
Bertha was preceded in death by her husband Thornton Beasley and a son Forest Beasley; two daughters Anna Mae Bolen and Ella Dae Harrison; six brothers; one sister; two sons-in-law Bud Newman and Lonnie Harrison; and one great grandson. She will be deeply missed by all her family and friends.
Funeral services will be Saturday, November 4, 2006 at Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel at 2:00 PM with Mr. Jack King officiating. Burial will follow in the Round Knob Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 PM on Friday night at the funeral home.
