Berta Mae Frost Collins, 84, of Barren Springs, VA, passed away on Wednesday, March 18, 2009. She was preceded in death by her parents, Sanders & Lula Frost, husband Clyde Collins, and brother Alvin Frost. Survivors include two sons and daughters-in-law, Jerry & Nancy Collins of Barren Springs, and Clyde & Charlotte Collins of Roanoke, VA; granddaughter & spouse Tammy & David Spencer of Forrest, VA; two great grandchildren, Merdith Spencer and Stone Spencer; special friends Brown & Evelyn Alderman; and a host of relatives, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Mrs. Collins was a lifetime member of Glenwood United Methodist Church and her favorite pets were Sable, Barney and Rosebud.

A funeral service will be held at 7:30 PM on Friday, March 20, 2009 at the Glenwood United Methodist Church in Barren Springs, VA with Rev. Bryan Wyke officiating. The family will receive friends at the church from 6:00 PM until the time of service at 7:30 PM. A private burial will be held in the Frost Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Glenwood United Methodist Church Building Fund 866 Wysor Highway, Hillsville, VA 24343.
