Obituary

Bernice Quesinberry Padgett, 78 of Hillsville, passed away on Thursday, July 30, 2009 at Lewis Gale Medical Center. Mrs. Padgett was born in Carroll County to the late Cleveland Kyle & Beulah G. Phibbs Quesinberry. In addition to her parents she was also preceded in death by her husband James H. Padgett. She is survived by her son & daughter-in-law Gerald & Carolyn Handy of Hillsville; daughter & son-in-law Marie & Jerry Lawson of Galax; grandchildren Regina S. Handy and Travis G. Handy; sisters & brothers-in-law Bertha (Micky) Quesinberry of Hillsville, Rosa Mae & Sam Fields of Hillsville, Dorothy Fleming of Collinsville, Juanita Brown of Hillsville, Louise & Reiford Harmon of Hillsville and Anita & William Haynes of Woodlawn; brothers & sisters-in-law Buford & Nancy Quesinberry of Woodlawn, James & Judy Quesinberry of Galax, and Cleveland & Phyllis Quesinberry of Hillsville; special friends Kevin Schwenk and Ruth Lyon; special pet Denver; several nieces and nephews; sisters-in-law Erthyl Dalton and Betty Padgett; and brothers-in-law Ottie Padgett, Guy Padgett and Don Padgett.

Funeral services will be held on Sunday, August 2, 2009 at 2:00 PM at Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel with Rev. Ronald W. Kronk and Rev. Michael D. Shockley officiating. Burial will follow in the Gardner Memorial Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Saturday, August 1, 2009 from 6:00 until 8:00 PM.
