Bernice Burnette McPeak, 87 of Hillsville, passed away on Friday, November 04, 2011 at Twin County Regional Hospital. Mrs. McPeak was preceded in death by her parents, Joe and Mahala Burnette; husband of 50 years Cleve Dempsey McPeak; daughter, Nada Gravley; grandson, Terry Gravley; six sisters, Beatrice Burnette, Snowie Dyer, Violet VanSutphen, Manda Newman, Oneida Calderon, and Estelle Mozick; three brothers, Parson Burnette, Ernest Burnette, and Connie Burnette.

She is survived by her children Vicky Cason and husband Jack of Winston Salem, NC, Margie Hamilton of Charlotte, NC and C.Dempsey Mac McPeak, Jr. and wife Valerie of Galax. Four grandchildren, six great grandchildren, and four great great grandchildren also survive.

A funeral service will be held on Monday, November 7, 2011 at 11:00 AM at Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel with Rev. Elmon Thompson, Rev. Wendell Horton and Rev. Ed Sears officiating. Burial will follow in Felts Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Sunday, November 6, 2011 from 6:00 until 8:00 PM. Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel is serving the family.
