Benton R. Cochran, 83, of Hillsville, passed away on Thursday, January 9, 2013 at Trinity Mission of Hillsville. Mr. Cochran was born in Carroll County to the late Robert and Nina Weddle Cochran. Survivors include his wife, Elsie Webb Cochran of the home; daughter and son-in-law, Kimberly and Jeff Bunn of Hillsville; son, Michael B. Cochran of Hillsville; grandson, Bo Bunn; and sister, Estelle Burnette of Richmond. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, January 12, 2013 at 11:00 AM at Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel with Pastor Ty Harrison and Pastor Ronnie Collins officiating. Burial will follow in the Gardner Memorial Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday, January 11, 2013 from 6:00 until 8:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the First United Methodist Church of Hillsville, P.O. Box 356, Hillsville, VA 24343. Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel is serving the family.
