Belvia Kay Sparks Nester, 74 of Hillsville, passed away on Thursday, September 10, 2026 at her home. Mrs. Nester was born in Wythe County, Virginia on May 28, 1952. She was preceded in death by her parents, Floyd and Joann Porter Sparks; siblings, Floyd “Tootie” Sparks and Diane Sparks; and father and mother-in-law, Moir and Connie Nester, who she also referred to as her parents.

Belvia loved her family more than anything. She adored spoiling her husband, sons, grandchildren and the rest of her family rotten. She would rather give than receive. Belvia was a member of Crooked Oak Missionary Baptist church for over 50 years. She was very thankful of the God given good life she and her husband, Glenn, were blessed with for over 49 years.

In addition to her husband Glenn of the home, she was also survived by her sons, Jacob Eli Nester of Colorado and Michael Elmond Nester (Mandy) of Hillsville; grandchildren, Lucas Nester, Ezra Nester, Miles Nester, Elam Nester, and Emmett Nester; sister-in-law and spouse, Gail Goad (Benjamin) of Willis; nephews, Matthew Goad, Josh Sparks (JoAnna), and Tony Roop; and nieces, Angie Roop, Stephanie Roop, and Heather Sparks.

Funeral services will be held on Sunday, September 13, 2026 at Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel at 2:00 PM with Pastor Sandy Hendrick officiating. The family will receive friends on Sunday at the funeral home from 12:30 until 2:00 PM prior to the funeral service. Burial will be in the Cruise Cemetery. Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel is serving the family.
