Belva Hall Sumner, 91, of Woodlawn, passed away on Wednesday, November 16, 2011 at Forsyth Medical Center. Mrs. Sumner was born in Woodlawn on May 23, 1920 to the late Rufus and Lelia Harriman Hall. In addition to her parents she was also preceded in death by her husband Clayton Phillip Sumner. She is survived by her children Maxine Felts of Fancy Gap, Bonnie Hawks of Galax, Wilma Dalton of Indian Valley, Donald Sumner of Barren Springs, and Ima Morris of Mt. Airy, NC; brother Charlie W. Hall of Hillsville; half sister Ida Chappel of Woodlawn; twenty grandchildren; twenty-seven great-grandchildren; and five great-great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, November 19, 2011 at 2:00 PM at Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel with Elder Carlton Brown and Elder John Lyons officiating. Burial will follow in the Quesinberry-Bobbitt Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday, November 18, 2011 from 6:00 until 8:00 PM.
