Belle Boyd, 95, of Fancy Gap, passed away on Wednesday, May 20, 2009 at Northern Hospital of Surry County. Mrs. Boyd was born in Carroll County to the late Charles M. & Mattie H. Willis. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Roy Lee Boyd; daughter Iola Boyd Cassell; and a brother Wilson Willis. Survivors include her grandchildren & their spouses Peggy & Guydell Slate, Daryl & Jo Cassell, Gary & Rosie Cassell and Melanie & Dennis Puckett; son-in-law Lester Cassell; seven great grandchildren; three great-great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held on Sunday, May 24, 2009 at Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel at 3:30 PM with Rev. Clarence Marshall officiating. Burial will follow in Bluemont Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Sunday beginning at 2:00 PM until service time.
